Travels in Southeast Asia: awesome food and colors in Thailand and Vietnam
Since October of 2019 I’ve been living in Korea and working as an English teacher. I wanted a change of pace from my work as a wedding photographer which I can always choose to do again in the future. An awesome thing about this job is that I get 5 weeks of paid vacation and my holiday started pretty quickly after my arrival- in January!
From January 10-25th I traveled around Thailand Vietnam with my friend John- we saw Bangkok for 5 days and then flew to Vietnam and traveled around to Saigon, Hoi An and Hanoi. Look below to see some of the beautiful street scenes I saw, the food I ate, and some of the things that caught my eye. I took so few photos as I don’t like carrying my camera all the time when I’m traveling but I think these images can give you a sense of the beauty that is in these cultures and hopefully inspire you to plan your own trip!
- We took a cooking class with this dude- we boked it through airbnb experiences and it was an incredible class. He taught us to make 4 insanely delcious meals in about 3 hours.
- Favorite thai flavors- galangal, ginger, kaffir lime, lemongrass!
- Such cool designs on some random trucks.
- Getting rides on tuk tuks feels so cool.
- I got to see my friend Bonny again- we met 15 yaers ago when I taught English in China.
- My travel buddy John.
- Fresh tangerine juice on the street cost less than a buck.
- Chinatown in Bangkok
- I thought this girl was totally styling.
- On to Vietnam!
- We stayed by the beach in Hoi An.
- Our airbnb was so beautiful.
- These ladies served us shrimp and fish and fresh coconut juice right on the beach that they would cook in their homes nearby.
- These are fishing boats that the fisherman would take out into the ocean early in the morning.
- Sad but so interesting looking.
- Our $50 per night lovely Hanoi airbnb.
