Autumn Styled Photoshoot at Irwin’s Upstairs in the Historic Bok Building
Styled Photoshoot at Irwin’s Upstairs
I put together this styled photoshoot at Irwin’s Upstairs- a beautiful, hip new restaurant located on the top floor of the historic Bok Building in South Philly. The Bok Building is a former vocational high school that has been re-made into a space for artists and restaurants. It is such an interesting and unique space. The graffiti you see on the walls in the restaurant is original from the students!
I put together a team of local wedding talent to create this whimsical, autumnal wedding aesthetic inspiration. This is the third styled wedding shoot I’ve put together in a series all about inclusivity. I’ve been casting couples who are gay, non-white, and plus size because I’m all about the beauty in diversity.
Some amazing artists contributed to this shoot. Jill of Shindig Bespoke created a custom invitation suite for me which she hand painted herself. Becky of Ram Floral created the stunning bouquet and unique boutonniere and she supplied the gorgeous luxe velvet ribbon as well as the tablescape and cake florals. I picked out the unique wedding rings at local jewelry boutique Bario Neal- their wedding rings are so beautifully hand crafted. The statement ring and ear cuff are from Wendy at Nuance Jewelry, whose studio is in the same building where I did this shoot.
I also took the groom model Justin to Commonwealth Proper for a fitting for his suit. Commonwealth is the best small luxury brand here in Philadelphia for custom men’s suiting, and I love the stylish overcoat. My friend April, a talented hair and make up artist, was the bride- she is such a gorgeous girl and I love how the BHLDN dress fit her. I sent her unique inspiration for a bridal manicure and love how her nails came out. April’s colleague Marina traveled from New York to do hair and makeup. And finally, I sent cake inspiration photos to Meg Skill at Nutmeg Cakes and she created the lovely, whimsical wedding cake.
Last but not least, I bought the orange velvet heels for the bride from forever21.com for $20 because sometimes fast fashion just works!!
